The top leaders of Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal in connection with the second phase local elections tomorrow morning. In a meeting to take place at party office, Sanepa, at 9.00 am Saturday, NC is said to urge the RJP-Nepal to participate in the second phase civic polls and make it a success. Notably a meeting of the RJP-N top leaders held on Friday decided to boycott the elections and unveiled the protest programme. Some days earlier, the government had decided to increase the number of 22 local levels and change the boundary of local levels in order to address the demands of agitating Madhes-based parties. The Supreme Court today has issued an interim order to not implement the government’s earlier decision to increase local elvels and change the boundary. Meanwhile, NC has finalized its candidates in most of the districts of province 1 and 7 in view of second phase of civic polls scheduled for June 14. NC Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel shared that a meeting of the office-bearers, former office-bearers and influential leaders of NC held on Friday almost finalized the candidates to contest the local elections in province 1 and 7. Decisions are yet to be made on some districts in the provinces, he added.
